Shaka Bay is a cosy 2 bedroom villa in Dikwella, Hiriketiya Sri Lanka.
Hiriketiya is a magical bay situated in the South of Sri lanka in Dikwella. The bay is the perfect place for surfing and swimming in the gentle waves and just enjoying days on the coconut palm fringed beach. Board rentals are available on the beachfront so that you everyone can get in the water to enjoy.
Shaka Bay is situated 250 meters from the waters edge , its only just a minutes walk.
Our property is a renovated sri lankan home that came to life by following in the footsteps of our popular Shaka House up the road. Shaka House came alive by wanting to make a holiday home for our family and other like minded adventurers to enjoy the luxuries and pleasures of home yet set in an exotic far away land.
Shaka Bay has 2 Bedrooms with king size beds , a shared bathroom, air conditioners and fans.
Its a touch more luxurious than rustic and has the comforts of a sparkling clean home, fresh linen and furnishings and a cool escape from the hot sunny days at the beach . Our serviced home has a cute kitchen with Fridge , Kettle toaster , water dispenser , cutlery and crockery .
Shaka Bay has a patio / porch on both side of the house . The front patio/ verandah has an outdoor dining table to relax overlooking the tropical garden and Hiriketiya Road where you can watch the world go by as you see everyone walking to the beach with their surfboards or driving by on scooters and Tuk tugs.
There is a garden in the back to chill in or for kids to frolic and play. Birds , peacocks and squirrels are your every day wildlife at Shaka Bay . The sounds of the birds and the smells of the foliage are enchanting. Our garden has a coffee bean tree, an avocado Tree , a curry leaf bush and a chili bush .
Our little kitchen allows you to cater for your dining in needs but because of the location of Shaka Bay you are close to the best restaurants in town , all accessible on foot .

Fresh, white and airy , our 2 rooms have king size beds, Quality linen and a shared bathroom with fluffy Towels. All rooms have air conditioners , fans , clothes rails. Shaka Bay comfortably accommodates 4 guests.

Hiriketiya is a great surfing bay for both beginners and experienced surfers. The best days are on down on the beach :)

Saturday is market day, if you want to experience the bustle of a local market and all the fresh produce , do this

The Team
We are the Petersens that were in search of a paradise escape from Dubai . Tammy Petersen's passion for Sri Lanka inspired the Shaka House project.
Donna is Tammy's baby sister that trawled over on one of the family adventures , caught the vision for the magical jungle bay and stayed! She has been an integral part of the growth and upkeep of our beautiful place .
Hiring and Gayan are our lovely house keepers keeping Shaka Bay standards high at all times .
